ABOUT MUHANNAD KOJAK
Muhannad Kojak always thinks outside of the box. His target audience is the people who want to stand out, who want to be trend makers. Muhannad Kojak loves creating drama pieces and is always telling a story through his designs. Believe it or not, they are all influenced by his own life.
But Muhannad’s creations are outstanding also because he uses unusual fabrics like tassels, upholstery fabrics or Romeo and Juliette goblin fabric.
KOJAK AT FASHION FORWARD
For his first time at Fashion Forward, Kojak presented his collection ‘Rage of Angels’. He said about this collection that ‘My angels rage for a better world’.
A COLLECTION FULL OF MEANING
The collection was full of red pieces. The designer told Dubai Fashion News that he used this color to express genocide, violence, the fact that we are repressed by society and how we struggle to be ourselves. And those red pieces were representing a kind of coat to the rest of the pieces in pastel colors.
As we are surrounded by aggression and confusion, we are not able to express ourselves. One of the models walked with a tape on her mouth spreading this spirit. Another walked with a cage as a bag symbolizing that this cage is locking up her ideas.
The show opened with a palette of pastel pieces which is how Kojak likes to see things. We saw light blue and pink dresses with ruffles, a pink shiny dress, a pink dress in chiffon. Also, a blue outfit mixing sportswear and a lacy top. There were different pieces with big epaulettes making us think of angels’ wings.
Kojak presented mixed pieces in pastel colors and red. Like a dress covered by plastic on the top to bring us gradually to a set of red pieces.
An assemblage of red pieces in different fabrics including short and long dresses, jumpsuits, coats, suits invaded the runway. Some models were wearing veils.
In the finale dress, he went back to pink. A beautiful beaded tulle dress with flowers embroideries appeared. This how he gives us a glimmer of hope in a world filled with violence…
