Dubai enjoys a well-established retail sector but it is not too diversified. At the end of the day, 99% of the shops are international franchises. Lately though, we are seeing some new breaths of fresh air with the opening of interesting concept stores.
Boutiques like The Cartel, Valleydez, Symphony, Boutique 1, O- Concept, O´de Rose or the different S*uce stores have been joined by Le66, The Den, Bambah, West LA and now, Polette.
We have to thank all of them. They bring fresh, cool, edgy aesthetics to the Dubai fashion scene. These shops showcase designers that are pioneering and breaking molds locally and internationally.
POLETTE: THE SHOP
Located at the heart of the new extension of City Walk, in Al Mustaqbal Street, Polette has French flavor and a strong connection with ESMOD. The co-founders are Tamara Hostal and Denis Ravizza, masterminds of ESMOD Dubai and well-known for their passion to nurture and assist emerging talent in the region.
Education is key in any given sector. Now, they are able to offer also exposure. This means an opportunity to reach the market to young graduates and other fashion designers aligned with the values and style of Polette.
In Polette, you will find pieces of Canella Hostal, Freny James, Olivier Philips, Lilith and Love Triangle to name a few.
The official launch happened just recently and counted with the presence of Gail Sangster, General Manager of City Walk. There was also a fashion show with pieces available to purchase at the store, including Canella Hostal´s creations.
Canella Hostal said the boutique had provided an amazing platform to introduce her label to the market.
“Through Polette, I have been able to convert my passion and dreams into a reality. Now, I am creating two collections per year for both women and men. The concept store is such a fantastic initiative for emerging talent. It has been integral to starting my own label. My latest SS17 collection “Tropical Symphony” is inspired by graphics and motifs. I combined delicate flower prints and clashing stripes to bring a dynamic tropical flair to the creations.”
If you are an emerging designer, visit the store and see if your products will fit in the French-chic atmosphere. The shop hosts beautiful and inspiring table books, cute décor pieces and plenty of pretty clothes and accessories to fall in love with.
The invitation is open to everyone having an eye for unique, fresh, and fun fashion.
