10 TANNING TIPS TO GET YOU SUMMER READY!

We have put together a list of tanning tips for you because, let’s face it, having a gorgeous tan is a synonym of beauty and attractiveness. As most of us want to faux the glow and prefer to ace a bronzed look throughout the year than having a snow-white look. Sun is proven to be a good friend. Why? It boosts our health thanks to Vitamin D. Vitamin D is super important for bone creation (pregnant ladies in the house!) and depression. Yes, you read it well.

Getting in contact with sunlight for at least 15 minutes a day improves your mood and mental health. It will make you feel relaxed and calm.  But as it’s said every coin have it’s two sides i.e good and bad, so it applies same for tan as well and too much of tanning can lead to skin texture changes or get you to look older and even worst, it can even lead to skin cancer.

So, it’s definitely more of a need to know some hacks and tips to tan with caution. We have researched and put together some of the best tanning tips. Read on!

OUR TANNING TIPS

1. Application of sunscreen

Dermatologists always promote sun cream in the first place and they suggest to apply at least two teaspoonfuls of suncream on your skin. Sunscreens should be applied thirty minutes prior to sun exposure. I personally prefer Bioderma’s Photoderm Max Aquafluide as it has an amazing character of easy absorption on the skin without leaving a trace. Shop this product with or without tint – to get the tan rolling! It is worth the money and in return skin’s natural defense is activated. So the choice is yours!!!

2. Let’s get hydrated

Drinking plenty of water irrespective of cold or hot weather does magic for your skin. So folks its time for all of you to ensure that you drink  2 liters of water a day. As you know moisturized skin looks better! And because we are fighting plastic pollution and we want you to join our fight, here you have a really cool glass bottle to have tea or juice or water for only 37 Dhs. 3. Run a bath with cold water

Always opt for a cool shower instead of a hot one. It is proven that hot showers can damage your skin easily by peeling quicker as it dehydrates your skin. So cool off!

4. Stock up on beta- carotenes

Research studies have concluded that beta-carotene is a very good source for healthier skin. So remember to pack your breakfast or lunch or brunch or tea time or dinner with sources of beta-carotene such as carrots, apricots, mangoes, sweet potatoes, spinach, peas and never forget cantaloupes in the list. Yummy!

5. Exfoliate

If you want your tan to last, you have to have new skin. Never ignore the magic of pampering your skin weekly by exfoliating. As a result, exfoliation gives a warm welcome to self-tanning by detaching dull and dead surface cells. Usage of body scrubs is good ways to exfoliate. You can do some at home by mixing with your body wash some sand or sugar. Don’t rub too much! Be gentle!

6. Imitate Tan

Spritz yourself in body lotion or slather yourself in body oil. This definitely makes an impression that you are just back from the beach.  Use Vita Liberata a self-tanning lotion that’s available in UAE is definitely giving awesome feedbacks for faking tan.

7. Wear white clothes

Getting clothed in white color always give an illusion of darker skin. A flowy and loose white gown or a white shirt are some of the must-haves in your wardrobe to get that tanned look as if your holiday is never over…. 8. Get off for trips

So to get a natural tan is another reason to book your tickets for the holidays. We are pretty sure this will be one of your favorite tips. It is found out that melanin is naturally produced in your body when you are exposed to the sun. Melanin keeps in control the color of one’s eyes, hair, and tone of the skin.

9. It’s M for moisturizing

Never miss out moisturizing dry areas of your body, especially after sunbathing. Application of moisturizer and after-sun creams enhance a tan as it can give your skin water and flexibility. Don’t let your skin feel thirsty and be generous. Apply it morning and night at least.

10. Tanning Mitt

Tanning Mitt is a suitable tool that will apply your tan without variation. This has to be applied in minimal quantities. Please make sure you apply the tanning mitt evenly and in every corner.

When you have to dash out for an important function and your fake tan has gone wrong, we have a trick to try to make it better. Rub a slice of lemon after soaking it in in soda on your “orange” tan for a few minutes. Trust me this solution does wonders especially around eyebrows that can often turn more intense orange. But our number one advice is to follow the instructions very carefully when applying self-tanning lotions.
