SAN FERMIN- SPAIN
The 7th of July every year Pamplona – a city in the North of Spain- triplicates its population. The San Fermin celebration is a major festivity that lasts around a week and has bullfights, concerts, events and lots of parties. There is an official uniform: all clothes must be optic white and a red handkerchief must be tied around the neck. Be ready to party and not sleep for as long as the festivities are taking place because it is fun, fun, fun…
LA TOMATINA- SPAIN
Spain is all about parties and fun. La Tomatina is a really cool festival that marks the end of the tomato harvest. There is a lot of extra tomatoes that are not in good shape to be sold, so … we play with them! There is a fight and everyone throws tomatoes to everyone. This was initially a small village festival but since it appeared in a Bollywood blockbuster, it became super popular and now people from all around the world fly to Spain to be part of it. It happens in August every year.
BURNING MAN- USA
Well, besides Coachella and Glastonbury this is probably the most famous festival in the world. It takes places in Nevada at the end of August and Burners are happy to camp for 6 days in the middle of the desert. At the end of the festival, a huge statue of a man gets burned, hence the name. I always wondered, why don’t we do our own Burning Man-DXB? We have desert, beautiful camping spots and lots of people that want to have fun. Yallah! Let’s get together and organize it!
OKTOBERFEST- GERMANY
If you like beer and party, you have to experience at least once in your lifetime the Oktoberfest.. that for some reason starts in September. Lol. Just remember it when doing your bookings!
HALLOWEEN- WORLDWIDE
This is a great opportunity for you to show your Gypsy Shrine glitters to the world. Make sure you buy in advance because I predict a spike in their sales just before the dates and you don’t want to miss being the coolest undead of your bunch.
DAY OF THE DEATH- MEXICO
In Mexico, they celebrate the 1st of November as the Day of the Death. Somehow linked to Halloween and the passing of the dead, they have their own characters and traditions that are so pretty. Try to get yourself a Catriona costume and full party makeup and get some Frida-style flower garlands for the hair and you will literally kill it!
HOGMANAY-SCOTLAND
End of the year is time to celebrate too and in Edimbourg, Scotland they have the Hogmanay. It is a two-day celebration involving Viking processions, bonfires, fireworks, concerts, and a huge carnival.
NEW YEARS- WORLDWIDE
Another great time for you to get your glitters out and about and make an impression to the new 2020 coming. A year that for Dubai is going to be full of exciting happenings. We have the Expo coming!!!
