Ramadan is a month for festivities as much as it is a month of spirituality. This year from 15th to 18th May, Project Warehouse By Festember created a special celebration of creativity by Yas Island at the du Forum: Ramadan edition.
Project Warehouse by Festember, in their own words, “are the leading fashion, lifestyle, arts & entertainment festival for the month of Ramadan, incorporating the beautiful vibes that unfold around the region during this time of year”.
It is a creative hub that not only entertains but encourages a diversity of themes. Such as female empowerment to rural Emirati populations and historic mining communities from across the region.
What makes this festive event so unique is its inclusion of both traditional and modern elements. It featured a curated selection of fashion retail, trendy food & beverage gourmet, cultural art installations and “Majlis” entertainment. “We see this pop-up event as a playground celebrating vibrant contemporary arts and culture during the evenings of Ramadan,” says Latifa Al Hamed, Festember Owner.

This year’s event showcased accessories from Aisha’s Charms, jewellery from Fabula Jewels and perfumes from the Library Fragrance. As for apparel, modest clothing selections from Shell Designs, streetwear from Elbotik, traditional abayas from Aisha Abuseem and much more.
Project Warehouse’s dedicated fashion hub, THE LOFT, captured the exclusive feel of a high-end fashion boutique, showcasing brands that bring a unique aesthetic to the fashion scene; including Gasah Studio, Sound On, Lammoush Boutique and Charm Boutique.
Also, H.H. Sheikha Mariam bint Khalifa bin Saif Al Nahyan introduced a special charity capsule range as part of her jewellery design house MKS.
FOOD BY FESTEMBER
After sunset, the festivities turned toward food. For the perfect Iftar experience, Project Warehouse offered all of the season’s favourite comfort foods, with a few twists. Gourmet versions of Parata, chips Oman, chai halib and delectable desserts gave the visitors something to savour. Other tasty food options from Glitch Café, Cupital Cafe, Japanese chocolates from Royce Chocolates, popsicles from House of Pops and delectable doughnuts from Wake n’Bake among were also available.
To sum it all up, the festival was a colourful and festive assortment of food, fashion and arts. H.H. Sheikha Mariam bint Khalifa bin Saif Al Nahyan mentioned, “we are always interested in giving back to the community, to celebrate Ramadan, the month of giving we are pleased to announce the beginning of what we will strive to extend to a long-term charity effort. At Festember, we invite everyone in this beautiful process of giving back.”
