What we like most about our DFN competitions is not only the fact that we are making someone happy with the prize or the amazing products we get as giveaways. For me, it is the opportunity to meet them, speak to them and get to know them. Who? Our readers!
Abeer Shello is one of them and also happens to be the lucky winner of our January Giveaway. She won a professional photo shooting with a fashion photographer.
When we were coordinating how, when and where to do the shooting, we learnt a bit of her story and it is definitely worth sharing. This young lady is full of promise and determination. Her energy is calm and magnetic.
She lost her father when she was only 15 and ever since she has been resolved to make every day count and be happy. We have one life at the end of the day, and that is why she pursued to get an education in Fashion: her passion.
Abeer Shello is only 20 years old and is studying third year of Fashion design at the University of Sharjah. She likes to play with contrast when designing, mixing tough textures with soft and delicate ones. Abeer is even considering studying after a Masters in Innovative Textiles.
The clothes you see in the photoshoot are all her creations. Cool! Right? We took the pictures at the new area in City Walk. Abeer told us her favourite place in the world is Dubai. Again, because of the contrasts. You have old souks and futuristic skyscrapers together in the same city, all is mixed… architecture, people, culture. Lebanon holds a very special place on her heart although she is Palestinian/ Jordanian.
