HH Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, daughter of our beloved Ruler, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is getting engaged to HH Sheikh Faisal Saud Khalid Al Qasimi from the RAK royal family.
The husband and wife-to-be announced the happy event through their Instagram accounts. They received a wave of likes and comments from all their followers and family members. We, at Dubai Fashion News want to join in this collective blessing and wish them the best in this new journey that is marriage.
We love our princess very much. For us, she is an amazing example of how powerful and determined Arab woman can be. Her list of achievements is far too long but we want to still mention some of her most crucial roles as they have impacted and reshaped some areas very dear to our hearts: Culture, Design, Heritage and Arts.
Our Busy Princess
The princess follows the vision of her father and is constantly inspired by him. They both love poetry, horses and share efforts to have a happy, empowered and creative people in the UAE. HH Sheikha Latifa is Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (aka Dubai Culture). She is also the ambassador of the Dubai Centre for Heritage Development. A very interesting initiative to reinforce national identity by adding Emirati heritage in educational curricula.

Her passion for poetry and literature landed her as Vice Chairwoman of the Emirates Literature foundation and her artistic flair, as patron of Downtown Design. She is very concerned about youth and women. That´s is why she launched the “National Programme to build Talent” to motivate women to contribute actively to the development of the nation.
Our princess also interned at Dubai Holdings, working with the development of Free zones and their related sectors within the UAE.
Sheikha Latifa is well known as a dedicated athlete and has represented in plenty of occasions our country in Showjumping, one of the many varieties of equestrian sport. The princess even won bronze and silver medals at different editions of the Asian Games. She even went to the Olympics in Beijing. Not the common royal family female member, right? She is here to break stereotypes and we love that.
Congrats to the happy couple and their parents. For sure everyone is thrilled and happy with the announcement.
