Are you a terror movie lover? Blood, guts, paranormal activity, creepy sounds… Then this venue is for you! Be ready to get spooky at Noire at the Fairmont Dubai. But mind you! These “bloody” dinners are only taking place during October. This experience reminds me of the book Blindness by Saramago. One of the best reads I ever had! But then, I like a lot Saramago and his way of storytelling.
The multi-award-winning dining in the dark concept Noire at Fairmont Dubai invites guests on a blood-curdling culinary adventure to experience an eerie take on 5-star gourmet cuisine in pitch darkness. Yep! That is why it is called Noire. Black in French!-Excusez moi, s´il vous plaît!
THE STORY AT NOIRE
Legend has it that many years ago there was a hospital for the visually impaired on the current grounds of Fairmont Hotel. According to the local legend, patients started disappearing mysteriously at the hospital some 55 years ago, eventually forcing its closure. Amongst them, a young dark-haired woman, dressed in white, who can every now and then be seen wandering around the floors of the hotel…
At Noire, you get to experience the feeling of being quite literally blind and have to go around with your other senses. The creepiest dinner of your life starts the moment you’ll step onto the elevator in the hotel lobby. Don’t be afraid, it’s only going to take you on a jerky descent into your worst nightmares and fears.
During the 3-course dinner in the haunted canteen, your sense of sight gets removed. That way you heighten your taste, smell, sound, and touch. The experience takes around 90-minutes. All nurses at your service wear with night-vision goggles, to assist patients throughout their journey in a fully blackened out setting.
The dining experience includes a three-course menu with beverages, and a post-dining reception to discuss the menu with the ch(i)ef-surgeon.
Maybe it is not ideal for a first date, but with friends, or your hubby it can be one of those fun nights to remember. And October is not only Pink Month. It is also Halloween! And this is an amazing way to celebrate the night of the witches!
