We met Suhina Kohli Bahl, founder and CEO of Curador by SKB at her launch event in JLT. It struck us her impetus for starting Curador by SKB and the fact that all was being inspired by the many and new cultural discoveries when on work-related travels with her husband. Curador means Curator in Spanish language and SKB represents Suhina Kohli Bahl – the founder’s initials.
The brand’s tagline of ‘Create, Curate, Carry’ reflects its mission, and while style offerings currently cater to women, a men’s collection is in the pipeline. The brand recently opened its showroom at 28th floor, Tiffany Tower in Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT).
We wanted to ask Suhina Kohli Bahlabout her inspiration and why we need to own a Curador piece this season.
“Besides being trendy and fashion-forward, I always make sure that women would feel confident wearing my designs. There are elements in my new collection that proves it to be current and on-trend without sacrificing comfort and ease.” Says SKB, Founder and Creative Head of Curador by SKB fashion label.

What is your inspiration in your latest collection for Spring/Summer 2019?
The problem most women have when dressing up is how to pair items in their closets. So for this collection, I have focused on creating sets to make it easier for women to just pick up a nice top with matching pants and be out of the door in a minute. Since it is a spring/summer collection, you will see a lot of loose tops with complimenting pants and garden print pullovers in metallic colors that easily gives a statement.
How is it unique for the UAE market?
The pieces in my new collection are actually amazing for all seasons. Because in a place like Dubai, when it’s hot outside, it is freezing cold inside the malls. My leather and mesh jackets are perfect for the winter but it is not really heavy and can serve more like an accessory that completes the outfit during summer. Every outfit has something unique about it that fits Dubai’s seasons.
What is the price range for the new collection?
It’s in the mid-range price bracket. It is not expensive as it is a fast-fashion brand, but the leathers, skins, and fur are priced a little differently as it is bespoke. I can cater to all women for all seasons so yes, it is a very versatile and dynamic brand.
