CHRISTMAS DINNER LOOKS
JULIA´S PICKS
This long-sleeved bonded lace dress from Maje is perfect for a special Christmas dinner. Although I must confess that I would wear it every day if I had the chance.
The lace and skater style skirt give it a retro look which matches perfectly with the hair tied up in a bun. The shape and volume in the skirt bring us back to the sixties.
In my opinion, it is a classic dress which never goes out of fashion. I chose basic black sandals with stiletto-style heels and ankle strap, from Charles & Keith. The purse if from Hoja Dorada (a Spanish brand we love).
MARTA´S PICKS
When you don’t know how serious is going to be the dinner or the plan after it, I always go for a black and sober but sophisticated outfit. This way I am on the safe side and away of being overdressed.
I chose this amazing jumpsuit from Claudie Pierlot. It really suits most body shapes and trust me on this one: it will make your legs look like endless if you add high heels.
I really liked the upper part. How the see-through fabric plays with your skin and the collar shape, that’s why I decided to highlight it and tied up my hair in a voluminous ponytail even though I love wearing my hair loose. I’m wearing a Small LV bag just for the essentials.
VIDA´S PICKS
I chose a long cherry blossom printed dress from Twinset. This piece is so unique and different and it is perfect for a dinner. I like pieces with a belt so they can outline my waist. This piece can also be worn with sneakers or boots. But I styled it with high heels from Guess for a more dressed up look with a purse from Moschino.
I wanted the accessories to be very simple because the dress has already a busy pattern and that way the outfit looks more balanced. This look can transition very well from day to night, so in case you have a lunch or “brunch” that might end up in dinner, this is your perfect dress.
WHERE TO HAVE THE SPECIAL CHRISTMAS DINNER
Dubai has so many options that it can get tough to decide where to go. We have selected some places we liked especially- and we are foodies!
If you like Japanese food, you have to try Zuma. They offer sushi, sashimi, robata (grilled and roasted dishes) and have plates that can be shared.
Where? Gate Village 06, Podium Level. DIFC.
This Peruvian restaurant started in London and now in its Dubai Branch is offering delicious anticuchos, ceviches, tiraditos, tacos, pots etc… The restaurant has some special areas: the Ceviche Counter, The Brassa Grill, a Pisco Lounge, and a glorious Terrace with beautiful views.
Where? Restaurant Village, Four Seasons Resort. Jumeirah Beach Road, Jumeirah 2.
If you are a free spirit, your company is a start-up or you just love a good hamburger with music… Then Hard Rock is the place to go.
Where? Dubai Festival City- Close to Marks & Spencer.
This hidden gem in The Beach of Dubai Marina is offering delicious food from the seven Emirates. The Chef is Bassel Ibrahim and he prepares Fougas, Harees, Ouzi etc.. The restaurant interiors are elegant and has a very nice terrace overlooking the sea.
Where? The Beach, Jumeirah Beach Residence. Dubai Marina.
Spanish cuisine at its best. Delicious tapas and sophisticated dishes that are truly Spanish. It has also a bar and a cozy terrace.
Where? The Westin Dubai at the Lobby Level.
We love Jamaican food (and music!). This place has traditional beef and chicken patties, jerk chicken, ackee & saltfish, curry goat, fried plantain, breadfruit, Johny cakes etc.. all delicious, all Jamaican.
Where? In Downtown Dubai, on the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, entrance from Souk Al Manzil.
