We got invited to the launch of this new outlet of Zaroob in Dubai Marina and we fell in love with it. Why? Because the food is great, the price accessible and the location super convenient.
ZAROOB MARINA LAUNCH
Zaroob is a well-known eatery having already some other restaurants in Dubai. For us though, it was the first time trying their food and we liked it so much, that after that first time we have repeated several times.
We liked that it is a mix of traditional Arab-style food with a very cool decor. It stands out with its eye-catching design and relaxed ambience. Zaroob is the Arabic word for the narrow streets that you can find in the old towns. So, the decoration inside is like a street. With garage doors, graffiti’s, posters, and vintage style elements, like the shelves with products or the empty olive oil cans used as seats.
They try to represent the scents, the look, the feel and even the sounds of the Levant area. So, from the corner of the Radisson Blu Residence in Marina suddenly you are transported to a traditional Arab market.
Zaroob also has a very pleasant terrace, a perfect dinning space to enjoy the fresh air during this season. The view might not be great, but as it is in an area that is not so busy, it provides you certain privacy.
They have an open kitchen and a juice bar, for you to see how your meals and drinks are prepared. The service has been very friendly every single time we have gone and that is something worth mentioning in Dubai.
THE FOOD
The oven-baked man’oushe, an open or folded flat bread topped with different ingredients such as cheese, meat or za’atar, are delicious. You have to try also the marinated beef or chicken shawarma. But definitely the two dishes you cannot miss are the fried halloumi cheese on-a-stick and the falafel. For all the newcomers, Falafel is a deep-fried chickpea ball, accompanied with tahini sauce or with hummus. Hummus is another must-try.
And from the juice bar we recommend the avocado shake, it’s a sweet experience but mind you, it is very dense. You might need the spoon to “drink” it. If you like juices they have plenty options available. If you have a sweet tooth, you can satisfy your cravings for dessert, with any of the kaa’ks, a sweet flat bread, topped with Nutella or banana. Glorious!
