If you are a millennial, have a special one in mind or Snapchat happens to be your favourite social network,.. then here you have the Christmas present that will make you (and them) HOHOHO of happiness. Snapchat Spectacles has released this special glasses that can record videos of up to 10 seconds. They have a camera lens of 115 degrees that are built within the frame. No worries they seem to be pretty light, right?. The glasses have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and can send the images that it captures directly to your feed.
By the way, the videos show your vision as is… It is like recording directly from your eyes. I feel this can increase the possibilities for new more elaborated stories within the network … We might need to work on some script even!! Yeah! Let’s make a movie! Terror, Comedy, Love… or just Life. This Snapchat glasses can turn you into a live-reporter in no time.
The only think we miss is that we might need to have a mirror handy to be able to record ourselves. 😉
A LITTLE PROBLEM THOUGH
On top of all that technology, the design of the glasses is kind of cool and they are pretty affordable if you manage to get them. And this is where it gets tricky. The glasses are sold in what looks like a vending machine at only 129 USD. Problem is that as there are not so many machines, people are buying to later resell them on eBay adding a hefty margin.
Remember Google Glasses? Some distant memory maybe? It was not that long ago though. We think Google Glasses didn’t succeed because they were far too expensive and sophisticated. For sure they were cool and had more functionalities than these ones, but they felt were out of reach for us mere mortals (and geek mortals).
They are releasing 3 colours for the Snapchat glasses for now: Green,Coral and Black. We like the black ones better, but which one would you pick?
