Coronavirus the current virus that’s creating havoc in the minds of people even by just hearing the name. The contagious virus is worming its way into every country and the UAE is no exception. No other news is as threatening as the surging number of coronavirus cases to the public. Undoubtedly this virus is no joke. Bearing the current scenario in mind, the UAE alters the dates of events that are scheduled as well as closes schools and universities to a break of four weeks.
These actions aim to protect the health and safety of the general public; which includes employees, partners, students, exhibitors, visitors and so on. The country encourages UAE citizens to stay in their curfew as much as possible. All in the best interest to citizen’s health.
The escalating coronavirus outbreak has impacted every industry big time. Dubai events always hyped about in the region are canceling or rescheduling. Some of the major events that went through rescheduled dates are as follows:
Fashion Forward
It honestly breaks our fashion hearts because we know the amount of work and dedication the whole BRAG team has put to bring us an amazing April edition. We will need to wait to see when the new dates will be announced.
International Apparel & Textile Fair
International Apparel& Textile Fair initially planned to start their exhibition from 7th April to 9th April 2020 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. But as the show includes international participants who are unable to leave their home country due to restrictions or fear quarantine. The textile fair decided to reschedule the exhibition to 16th -18th November 2020 at the same location with a new hope that they will able to operate with full capacity to the public.
Art Dubai
In accord with giving importance to the well being of the community Art Dubai has decided to temporarily suspend its programs. Temporary closure includes its art center, art gallery, and the auxiliary project space.
Paperworld Middle East
Paperworld and Gifts & Lifestyle Middle East is the largest international trade exhibition for the stationery, paper, gifts, and office supplies in the Middle East. In the wake of the virus, Paperworld announced that their event will happen from 2nd – 4th March 2021 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
K-POP music concert
One of the high profile shows scheduled to happen in Dubai on March 21st at the Coca Cola Arena. However, the promoters of the South Korean music show have taken a bold step to cancel the show. Makestar consoled the K-POP fan base in Dubai by announcing that they will return with fresh dates at the earliest. Also, all ticket holders will get their refund from the Coca-Cola Arena.
Taste of Dubai
Taste of Dubai the yummiest event of UAE’s calendar. Every year the event attracted top chefs and restaurants with cooking demonstrations and so on. And this year was no exception, and the event was about to hit the public from 12th-14th March 2020. Unfortunately, the event has been canceled due to coronavirus and has been rescheduled on December 9th- 12th 2020. Ticket Buyers will receive their refunds if needed or else they can use their tickets on rescheduled dates.
