Why We Need a Fashion Revolution
The tragedy of Rana Plaza in 2013 was a wake-up call the industry can never forget. Over 1,100 garment workers lost their lives—reminding the world of the real cost of fast fashion. Since then, Fashion Revolution has become a global movement advocating for transparency, accountability, and justice in fashion.
In the UAE, the movement takes on a unique cultural lens, guided by three principles:
- Cultural Integrity: Preserving artisanal heritage and giving rightful credit to creators.
- Solidarity and Inclusivity: Building a diverse, representative, and compassionate industry.
- Mindful Consumption: Embracing circular fashion and rethinking how we consume.
