Dubai is the hub for modern ideas that push the limits of design and style. It is an integration of culture and modernity that gives its visitors the ultimate architectural experience. It is no surprise that Celine’s recent take on architectural bliss fits in well amongst the other creations in Dubai.
The new Celine store is located on the ground floor of Dubai Mall in the “fashion avenue” section and comes with 235 sqm of selling space.
Design expert Hedi Slimane has created an innovative concept for Celine stores worldwide. He is famously known for tweaking other high-end brands like Saint Laurent. Since joining the team in 2018, the creative director has been pushing the boundaries of the fashion industry. His creations for Celine have exceeded our expectations.
Dubai’s new Celine store has followed the architectural elements of the main stores in Madison Avenue in New York, Omotesando in Japan and the newly renovated stores in Paris Rue Francois 1er and Rue de Grenelle.
The boutique offers the same luxury shopping experience as it always has but in a rather unusual setting. The interior is unique in that it feels like an art gallery as opposed to a high-end fashion store. The designer creatively combined timeless and minimalistic colour palettes. He placed exquisite sculptures to add to the overall aesthetic.
Pieces of artwork were carefully placed around the store to complement its design. Some of the artists featured are James Balmforth, Jose Davila and Oscar Tuazon.
Also, Slimane has ditched Celine’s original accented logo and come up with a simpler, yet effective logo in its place. He has also updated Celine’s online platform and continues to conjure up new exciting ways to make the brand unique.
Celine continues to progress as a fashion brand and has now set the bar for high-end stores around the world. We can’t wait to see what Hedi Slimane has to offer in future.
