We all love going shopping and in Dubai, we are spoiled for choice. We have the biggest mall in the world and zillion of other great malls. In one of them, we found a hidden gem: Rana Zone- with an amazing lady behind- You guessed it! Her name is Rana. And you know what, it brought us back to how important is to shop from people that are bringing new proposals and have different views on fashion. Shop locally, not only from the big fat brands. Help local business grow, and support the fact that we are not the same, so why should we all dress the same?
ABOUT RANA AND HER ZONE
Rana was previously a TV Presenter with an amazing style. She decided to start using the veil and so realized the need to have more modest proposals for the covered ladies. As she is a woman of action, she started looking here and there and doing small gathering and bazaars. All that eventually lead to her boutique now, where she shares designer pieces curated by her.
At Rana Zone, you can find pieces that are fashion-forward, fun, quirky and very versatile. The shop hosts a selected collection of designers from the Middle East and beyond. Rana wants to offer her clientele a broad selection of pieces, easy to style whether you are modest or not. I must admit since we met Rana we have always been fascinated with her sense of style and the shop is a true reflection of who she is. And who is Rana? She is a fearless woman, brave and determined, raising a family and running a business in this very volatile fashion sector.
THE MODEST FASHION SCENE IN DUBAI
In fashion, we tend to fall in and out of love with some buzz words: Sustainable fashion, Modest Fashion, Slow fashion… Rana has been a supporter of Modest Fashion long before this was even a hashtag. She has been part of Dubai Modest Fashion Week and now hosts a corner at her shop with the designers that showed her collections at the catwalk. To launch it, she did a beautiful and private event. There were styling sessions and great company to mingle with.
Being modest and uber stylish herself, we couldn’t help but having her interviewed and asking her about her own line of clothes. She has coverups with Ghutra and matching turbans. The turbans have some internal wire that is totally amazing. It gives volume and as a result, the turbans are fun and easy to style. We fell in love with them and so we ask her to style one on one of our team members. Simrin looks like a million bucks with her turban. Want to see it? Check the full interview below.
