Today we will speak about skincare and how to love the skin we live in, no matter our age. Our skin is without a doubt the biggest part of our body, the most visible one and the one we cared for possibly less. Experts say the earlier we care about our skin, the less we will need to worry later to fix or deal with something on our golden years.
Aida Fara, one of the strongest voices in the matter gave us her recommendations about when and how to take care of our skin, to have the healthiest one, because, in the end, that is what really matters.
WHEN AND HOW DO WE START OUR SKINCARE ROUTINE
On a regular basis, what you recommend us to do related to skincare?
I have 5 steps or pieces of advice that I recommend every woman as basics to care for your skin.
Step 1- First thing in the morning, you might use a gentle cleaning. This will help remove dirt.
Step 2- Toner
A lot of people skip this step because they think toners are too harsh for their skin. Toner isn’t always necessary, but if your skin care specialist or esthetician recommends one, it’s for a good reason, so use one after cleansing your skin.
Step 3- Moisturizer
This includes oily skin types! When your skin senses it’s dry, it actually produces more oil which can make matters worse, so it’s important to maintain skin balance and hydration.
Step 4- Eye cream
Eye cream isn’t just for your mom! It’s recommended that you start using eye cream as early as your 20’s since this is the age when people start seeing signs of aging in the form of crow’s feet and eye wrinkles. Better to prevent than treat!
Step 5- SPF
Don’t leave the house without applying a daily SPF. Even on cloudy days!
Do´s and dont´s
What are the do´s and don’ts on skincare on a daily basis?
First and most importantly is drinking plenty of water.
Do exfoliate gently if you dream of having healthy and glowing skin.
Do sleep soundly for 7-8 hours. During the night is the time when fresh and healthy cells rise to the skin’s surface and repair any damage accumulated over the day.
Never sleep with makeup on. Makeup clogs pores when worn overnight.
Don’t stress. Stress hormones create an overproduction of sebum, causing acne. So don’t worry. Be Happy. Delete and block those toxic individuals in your life wherever necessary. You come first!
The best for your skin
What products are the best in the market for skin care according to your experience?
I used my own products Farabeauty, 24K rosehip oil, which is amazing for dry and skin dehydration.
Do you think is a wise choice to use the resources of Mother Nature instead of products for skincare?
Skin is your body’s largest organ and your protective barrier. However, that doesn’t mean it’s impervious or impenetrable. You need to be aware of what you’re exposing it to. If you put dangerous ingredients on your skin, they get into your body — exactly where you don’t want them. Consider all of the potential irritants that come in contact with your skin — chemical-laden personal hygiene products, fragrances, deodorant; the list goes on and on. Abiding by an organic skincare routine and using natural skin care products will help your skin feel and look healthier than ever before.
When to start?
What would you recommend to young ladies to start in their skincare routine?
A good skincare regimen is essential for beautiful skin, and this is especially important for teens. It may seem overwhelming to develop a skincare routine, but adopting simple good habits like daily cleansing and weekly exfoliating are quite easy. Moisturizing yourself from head to toe and taking preventative measures to protect your skin may also help to ensure that your skin looks great. Start by choosing products that match your skin type and you’ll be on your way to healthier skin.
And for more mature ladies?
Regardless of age, everyone wants their skin to look glowy, radiant, and plump. But the moisturizer worked so well in your 20s and 30s might not meet the same needs your skin has by the time you hit your 40s and 50s. Moisturizer is the best for mature skin types for every budget. The skin becomes drier and thinner with more laxity. Generally, this means a proposal for skincare regimen needs to include products that strengthen and thicken the dermis, provide moisture retention and barrier renewal, yet are not too harsh or abrasive.
Please give us your best advice to have healthy and beautiful skin
- Always wash your face before bed
- Try an oil-absorbing moisturizer
- Use a cleaning brush
- Wash, then exfoliate
