We discovered this brand at a recent pop-up, and it is so rock-and-roll that it got our attention immediately. We wanted to find out more about The Letter because even the name is mysterious, right?
FOR THE LOVE OF LEATHER JACKETS
We all know how cool leather jackets are- or maybe is it the people wearing them? It is a garment that adds instant coolness to any look. One of my friends got married in a leather jacket over a fantastic white dress and so far, she is the most memorable bride in my memory.
There is something with leather jackets. It turns you into a rebel, into a mysterious and sophisticated dreamer. I picture in my head James Dean, John Travolta, and any urban hero and there it is… They all wear a leather jacket. Michael Jackson´s Thriller wouldn’t have been the same without the mythical red leather jacket.
What we loved about these leather jackets is the aesthetics. Mohammed Rabi is a graduate of the Academy of Arts in San Francisco. So, he would paint on top of the jacket and can customize any given piece. So, it is “your jacket”. As unique as you.
Considering the durability of leather jackets, it makes this an iconic piece within your wardrobe. Even a heritage piece to hand over to future generations.
THE LETTER
Mohammed Rabi is an avid cinephile. He loves watching movies. Especially how a character expresses traits, thoughts, and behaviors even before talking or acting. Just by the sheer fact of being dressed as the character will do, the actors are conveying a lot of information about the personality and what to expect from the character. He observed how powerful leather jackets were to do precisely this… and so The Letter and his iconic leather jackets came into the scene.
The Letter has now different models. Besides the classic leather jacket, you can find long or cropped leather or cotton bomber jackets in different colors and shapes. To finish the rock and roll offering, he is creating a new line of t-shirts with cool designs coming out of Rabi´s imagination.
